It has been recognised for some time that some young people feel the need to “fit in” and require support to find the right school, college or other special provision for their education. The Limes College is a form of alternative educational provision outside of a traditional schooling environment known as a Short Stay School, which responds to each of our students needs. We are about growth, development and learning through forming positive relationships and finding new and different ways of providing education. We aim to be a place of education where all students are able to learn to the best of their ability. We are geared towards creating an educational path that takes account of individual needs, interests and aspirations. We want and will encourage every student to do his/her best in all aspects of life. The Limes College aims to work with families to integrate all of our students into long term placements.
It is our intention that each student will follow a structured, tailor-made timetable that aims to develop the skills required for each young person to make a positive contribution to society. Students are encouraged to take personal responsibility for their learning and self development in preparation for reintegration back into mainstream school, college, post 16 training or employment and for life itself in the broadest terms.
The staff will provide a safe, caring environment, with clear aims and objectives for all students relating to an appropriate programme of education. We will keep regular contact with parents/carers, value each student in our care, provide a range of curricular activities and visits, celebrate achievements, reward success and demand the best of each student.
This web sitehas been designed to provide parents/carers and students with comprehensive information about our aims and objectives and show the learning opportunities that are on offer.
- We believe that each individual, both students and staff, is important and valued and we celebrate difference.
- We believe that each individual, both students and staff, is able to learn and develop skills and understanding of each other.
- We believe in new challenges and fresh starts that lead to positive change for all concerned.
