Communication

Schoolcomms

The receipt of written information home may sometimes be unreliable and we will therefore be supplementing this with Schoolcomms, an electronic school communication system. This will enable you to receive prompt reminders relating to different aspects of school. Initially, this will be in the form of a text message sent directly to your mobile phone and in the future we may also consider using email. The school will use the mobile number that we hold for the Priority one contact(s) in our database. If you are not certain that we have your correct details or you want your contact details updated, please contact the school office as soon as possible and they will amend the information we hold for you. For example, the kind of information you may receive via text could relate to; attendance/punctuality, school closures, after school activities, clubs, meetings and other important information and dates.

School Open Check

This service is a Government initiative which enables schools to post their “status” on the internet during an emergency such as; freak weather conditions, emergency school closures, an epidemic situation or other borough-wide incidents. The Limes College is now registered to this service and you can view our status via the London Borough of Sutton website. All schools in the borough have been invited to join but as yet not all are participating. By accessing OpenCheck you will be able to find out information about participating schools throughout the country.

For further information go to: www.sutton.gov.uk click on the “Emergencies” Link and scroll down to “School Status System”. The service also has a telephone announcement facility which parents can check by calling 020 8408 7508 and then entering our school's seven digit DCSF code (3191100). This will trigger the announcement of the current status message and when it was last updated.
